Deafal (European Delegation for Family Farming in Asia, Africa and Latin America) is a non-profit Non-Governmental Organization born in 2000.
Deafal operates in the rural development sector with the following goals:
Deafal collaborates to improve the livelihood of small farming communities through the adoption of a sustainable agriculture, the preservation of biodiversity and of natural ecosystems. It aims to subvert unfair food production system through the collaboration, rather than subordination and competition, among different regions of the world.
This is why Deafal promotes Regenerative and Organic Agriculture, with the aim to boost the farmers’ self-sufficiency.
Deafal is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, by Lombardy Region and the Citizenship Committee for International Cooperation of Rome; is moreover, accredited by Marche Region. Deafal is member of CoLOMBA (network of NGOs in Lombardy) and, through this, part of the Italian NGOs Association.
